Hashtag Wish List

Spring fashion has been in the shops since Christmas. And in my favourite magazines for longer. But it’s just got a whole lot more interesting after a few days of sunshine.

And even though I’m not shopping right now ( http://stylestuff.co.uk/what-no-shopping/ ) there’s no harm in looking. For research purposes only of course.  Wish lists, after all, are free!

Beloved of the runways this trend works in real life too. Yay! Pulling an outfit together for a more polished look. And getting you through those days/months before you dare go out without a coat. Which is most days in Newcastle let’s face it. Pastels, checks or bedecked with rhinestone buttons like this one from Zara. They are everywhere. Pick your price point and go shop!

There’s nothing boring about beige this season. It’s been renamed neutral for a start. From trousers to trenches wear it head to toe for a luxurious Park Avenue Princess look. Take your inspiration from the catwalks then head straight to the High Street.

Boiler suits

All over my instagram feed and the easy way into the utility trend. At £34.99 this H&M jumpsuit has to be worth a trip to the changing rooms.  My serious green tea habit might stand in the way of it working for me but I love the laid back vibe and can see it becoming a weekend favourite.

Animal print

Thrilled to see fashion’s love of animal print shows no sign of abating. It continues to be on everything, everywhere. Noticing a move towards tiger from leopard though, with a bit of zebra thrown in for good measure.

Please, please will someone invite me to something glitzy so I can at least try on this amazing Rixo dress.

Stand out suits

Suits lose their Dynasty image this season in stand out colours to take you from work to weddings. Not a pin stripe, or shoulder pad, in sight.

One day I will invest in a Stella McCartney suit. And I’ll wear it every day to get the cost per wear down I promise.  But until then Zara gets my vote for quality, fantastic colours and, bang on trend, cuts.

When I bought this bright red suit a year ago I was ahead of the curve on this particular trend.  Worn only twice it’s my number one “shopping my wardrobe” outfit for spring!

And the trends not making the cut for Style Stuff?

Cyling shorts of any description. Even on a bike… at the gym

Sheer trousers… just say no

Diana style bows… once was enough

Eighties style acid wash denim… I’m leaving that to those who yearn for big hair and geometric blusher. Again.
