Style Stuff does Secret Santa

If you’ve bought and wrapped all your presents and are sitting next to a twinkling Christmas tree you have every right to look happy and sip from your christmas mug whilst the rest of us are braving the shops and scouring the gift guides.

Another gifting opportunity has crept onto our lists recently. The Secret Santa. Whether it’s amongst friends, family or at work it’s become pretty much ubiquitous. And unless, you’ve drawn that one guy in the office, in which case proceed straight to Panic; do not pass GO. Do not collect your £200 –  it doesn’t have to be naff. I read that Prince Harry once bought the Queen a Life’s a Bitch shower cap. So if that’s your thing, you’re in good company!

Inspired by a birthday present from my friend Sara, who got it just right with these leopard print rubber gloves, these are the Secret Santas I wouldn’t be binning on Boxing Day.

Channelling my inner Domestic Goddess

For someone who likes to up their beauty game …

The Rimmel polish really does dry in 60 seconds – which is about all the time anyone has on Christmas Day – and it’s £2.99! A beauty editors’ favourite – the Caudalie Beauty Elixir – is worth every penny at £12. And for the blackest lashes ever bring out the big guns with a mini Benefit Bad Gal Bang.

Every beauty lover I know would love Chanel’s limited edition Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in No5. Even if they never wear it – they’ll wonder at it’s beauty. And who could ignore the advice of Lesley, Style Stuff’s very own “nose”. The 30ml travel size of Molecule 1, £36.00 from Cult Beauty.

For someone who breathes a sigh of relief when they hit the post Christmas lull …

A couple of hours on the sofa with the latest Mama Mia DVD , candles lit, rather a lot of chocolate and a copy of Vogue to look forward to.

For someone whose January motto is “bring it on” …

The Big Tomato Company have covered all the angles with their brilliant mugs. When it’s a long time until payday it’s good to know the occasional coffee treat is covered with a Starbucks card. Resolutions and goals will be affirmed in style in this You Can notebook.

And for that moment when the last Jo Malone candle has been burned there’s always the Aldi version – the snip of the season at £3.99. Pomegranate and Fig & Cassis are my current favourites.

Aldi’s finest

And just in case you drew that guy in the office – my sister did a quick poll of her dog’s Twitter friends – Lego! Everyone loves Lego – apparently – or a USB astronaut light!

And never forget

He’s watching …
